Week 5

In lab we started off with an activity. We talked about a burdock tree and bush. Our first activity we had to do was make our own explanation on how the tree and bush got to the middle of a field. We went over with many explanations on how that could occur. The next activity we did was to take a close look at a burr. We started out with someone in the group grabs some burrs with a glove and brings it back to the table. Us as a table got the opportunity to look at them through a microscope, feel them, and even got to check out the little hooks on the ends. We ended the class by working on our lesson plans.

Week 4

This Lab was all about butterflies and their life cycle. The class started about looking at a butterfly and and its whole life cycle from a caterpillar all the way to the butterfly. I think butterflies is a great topic to have in class because its so fascinating and the students would love it.  Butterflies are something they see in their everyday lives and so it would he something they would be interested to learn. The last part of class was looking at lesson plans. Having resources like this is something that is super beneficial for teachers when they feel trapped or lost.

Week 3

Unfortunately due to having Covid I wasn't able to attend this class but I got information from my fellow group mates on what exactly we did in class. In class we had the topic abut what makes corn grow. We talked about different ways on how to make it grow faster. A big subject of this lab is the topic of photosynthesis and how it works.  My group mates had an experiment where they had test tubes and had a solution and they put plants in it. The experiment required to put the test tubes outside for 30 minutes and to bring it inside to observe.

Week 2

This week in lab we took a close look at mealworms. Before this class I did not know a thing about them at all. We started off the lab with questions before hand about what we know about the worms. After we did that we got access to see them up close and gave us hand outs that gives us more information about them. After we finished that section of lab we moved onto plants. Our professor showed us these plants and how they work. We as a table group had to come up with an experiment to show a difference between how the plants grow and what we would do differently.
